Enrolling at ASU
In your final year of high school, you must make a number of important decisions and take several important steps. Planning on your part will make the whole process much easier.
Below is a checklist for you to follow that includes reminders about such things as deadlines to meet and forms to complete. Use this information and your transition to ASU will be an easy one.

August/September '08
- Contact ASU for admission information
- Review scholarship and admission deadlines and requirements.
- Register for October ACT/SAT.
October 2008
- Take or retake ACT/SAT and send new scores to ASU.
- Visit ASU's website at www.astate.edu.
- Attend ASU Preview Day and check on Residence Life.
November 2008
- Attend ASU Preview Day and check on Residence LIfe.
December 2008
- Apply for federal student aid (FAFSA) online.
- Ask your high school to send your six-semester transcript to the Office of Admissions.
- Re-take the ACT/SAT.
(Hint: A higher score could qualify you for more scholarship dollars)
January 2009
- Apply online for federal student aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA form must be filled out after January 1st and after federal income tax forms have been completed. The earlier you apply, the quicker your results will be sent to the ASU Financial Aid Office. ASU's Financial Aid code is 001090.
- Research other kinds of financial aid using the internet, public library, or your high school college counseling office.
- Submit your ASU application for admission or apply online.
- Ask your high school counselor to send your seven-semester transcript to ASU.
February/March 2009
- Attend Admitted Student Open House
- Register to take your AP exams for potential college credit.
- Register for New Student Orientation.
May 2009
- Have your high school counselor send ASU a final high school transcript.
Summer 2009
- Attend ASU's New Student Orientation to meet your advisor & choose your classes. Contact Admissions at (870) 972-3024 or email admissions@astate.edu.
