Martin's A-Statements

February 20, 2008 at 10:17 pm The second semester is already here!?  It's amazing how much time goes by when you are really enjoying your college experience.  I am getting to the point now where I am looking into deciding a major.  It is hard for me to decide since ASU offers so many!  I am really looking forward to the time when I have my intended major and interest of study decided.  Currently, I am working on my basic courses which have taught me a great deal.  I have been trying to figure out which classes I enjoy most and then base my major off of that interest!  Hopefully, I will have one picked out soon so I'll be prepared to work hard and graduate!

This second semester has even come with some big changes here at ASU.  Recently, a committee has decided to change the mascot from the Indians to the Wolves!  I am pretty excited about this change and am very interested in seeing how it will affect the student body in the fall of 2008.  I am very confident that it will go well with the students as well as everyone else affiliated with ASU.  It has been very exciting to hear many of the different names offered as suggestions for a mascot.  However, it is very relieving to know that one has finally picked out.  I am ready to cheer on the Arkansas State Wolves!

December 3, 2007 at 4:52 pm Finals are fast approaching and the semester is coming to a close!  Lately I have been spending much of my time studying and preparing for final exams!  It's crazy to look back on this semester and see how far I have come in just a few months!  It has been amazing meeting lots of new people and interacting with professors.  So many people have told me that my freshman year will be a year I will never forget  They couldn't be more correct! I am very excited about finishing this semester on a positive note and I'm looking forward to a new semester with more new experiences! 

October 18, 2007 at 10:25 am Where has all the time gone?? Here it is halfway through the semester and it feels like it was yesterday I had just moved into my residence hall! I am constantly on the move here at ASU. There's always something going on! Whether it's football games, hanging out with friends, or intramural sports, there never seems to be a dull moment!

Along with the exciting events going on around campus, it has been important for me to keep up with my schoolwork. One thing that has really surprised me about college is how enjoyable the classes are. One of my professors even pulled me aside and told me how well I was succeeding here at ASU! She has really motivated me to do well in her class and her class makes me excited about learning!

September 1, 2007 at 8:07 pm Hello! My name is Martin Greenwood and I am a freshman at Arkansas State! I have lived in Jonesboro, Arkansas my whole life and was very anxious to get as far away as possible! I visited many colleges and tried to get out of Jonesboro. However, windows of opportunity kept opening for me and all roads led to ASU.

So what has been the outcome so far? It has been amazing! Life on campus is so much different than I thought it would be. Everyone at ASU has been so kind to me. I have been here two weeks and have met more people than I could have imagined! There are so many opportunities to get plugged in to a stable social life. The ASU faculty and staff have been more than helpful in getting me accustomed to life as a freshman. I am very content here at ASU and can't wait to see what the future here has in store!
